This Beautiful Nestbox Was Made By a local artist, Fred Dardis, And Is Sold As A Fundraiser For The Nestbox Program.
This nestbox design is suitable for Whiskered/ Western Screech-owls and American Kestrels. It's made out of reclaimed wood interior and saguaro rib exterior. It features a hinged roof for easy clean-out and a hardware on the bottom of the nestbox allows for easy installation on a pole. All you need is a 10 foot tall ¾” galvanized gas pipe, rebar and guide wires. Pound rebar into the ground about half way then put the pipe over the rebar with the nestbox threaded in on top. Use the guide wires to secure the nestbox among tree shade, allowing for a clear flight path into the nestbox. You can also install by drilling directly though the top portion of the nestbox back. First, pre-drill the holes then put outdoor grade screws to attach the nestbox to a tree or side of a building.
